Adult Christian Education

Small groups foster close relationships and an integral community.

Adult Christian Education provides for the Christian nurture and growth of St. Mark’s adult members and equips them for ministry. The Adult Christian Education Committee includes all adult Sunday school teachers, small group leaders and persons led by the Spirit to train adults to be disciples to the world in which we live.

Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior.

Youth Christian Education

St. Mark’s youth group is a close-knit community of young believers walking alongside each other to figure out what it means to be a Christian. In a world that often sees Christians as judgmental, hypocritical, and close-minded, we seek to create disciples who love fearlessly, live authentically, and engage non-believers with respect and humility. We encourage our youth to develop an intimate and life-changing walk with Jesus Christ, seeking to reflect who Christ is in all that they do, say and think. We rejoice in our Lord and seek to breathe life into his kingdom here in Boerne through community, worship, learning and service.

Weekly Youth Group Events

We balance our calendar with opportunities for worship, service, study and recreation. We believe that all God’s children grow in their faith as they laugh, play, serve, encourage, and pray with one another.

Youth Ministry Service Opportunities

We believe in God’s desire for us to serve his creation and his people. Each year, our youth typically:
  • Plan for and lead St. Mark’s congregation in an annual Youth Worship Service
  • Organize and carry out fundraisers benefiting St. Mark youth activities
  • Assist with St. Mark programs, such as our esteemed Vacation Bible School experience
  • The annual Iron Chef Competition is always fun!
  • Serve at local organizations, such as Kendall Country Animal Shelter, nursing homes, Hill Country Pregnancy Care Center, andHill Country Family Services
  • Serve on a mission trip involving both service and relational ministry
  • Annual retreats also deepen our faith through Christian community, creative fun and the glory of God’s creation

Mission Statement

We strive to humbly and lovingly lead the youth to become a community where all regularly encounter God, feel safe to explore their faith, and grow into confident, mature, spirit-filled disciples who boldly share the love of Christ with each other and all people they meet.

O people, the Lord has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

Micah 6:8

How We Communicate

We communicate via email, Instagram, and text. To receive our weekly emails, please send your email address to our Director of Christian Education, Angela Grover. You’ll also find updates about the Youth Ministry on Instagram and in The Happenings, St. Mark’s weekly publication, on the bulletin boards in the church Narthex and in each youth room.

We are always open to new ideas and welcome all participants and volunteers. We can’t wait to welcome you!

Children's Christian Education

Our Children's Christian Education program provides a nurturing and engaging environment for children of all ages to learn about God's love and grace. Through age-appropriate Bible studies, songs, games, and crafts, our goal is to help children develop a strong foundation in their faith. Our dedicated teachers and volunteers are committed to creating a safe and welcoming space where children can explore their relationship with God and grow in their understanding of the Bible.

Established by St. Mark in 1996, the Early Learning Center is a key mission and ministry of the church.

St. Mark is committed to providing an excellent program for young children and their families which is
  • affordable
  • developmentally appropriate
  • with active learning opportunities, and
  • respectful of diverse cultures and races, while being
  • built upon the foundation of a loving, Christian environment

St. Mark supports the ELC by providing funds annually for need-based scholarships. We support chapel every Thursday in the sanctuary and participate in fundraising events and ELC activities. St. Mark members fill a majority of seats on the ELC board of directors, along with community members and parents/grandparents of children enrolled.

This preschool program nurtures the spiritual, social, emotional, cognitive and physical growth of children in a climate of love and support through a Christian-based program of excellence. The ELC is licensed by Texas Health & Human Services; is a Texas Rising Star 4-Star program, and is the only preschool in Boerne that is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).

This is provided through planning programs and events, frequently in collaboration with other ministries, such as:

  • An annual All Church Family Retreat at the Mo Ranch in Hunt, TX
  • Fifth Sunday luncheons and other special meals
  • An annual Chili Cook-off and biennial Christmas Party
  • The Family Olympics Fun Night
  • Fellowship groups and activities requested by the congregation

Our music ministry plays a vital role in our worship services and community events. We offer a variety of musical styles and genres, including traditional hymns, contemporary worship songs, and special anthems. Our talented musicians and singers create a beautiful and inspiring atmosphere for worship and fellowship. Join us as we lift our voices in praise and worship of God.
